The
 reason for the wrong netmask is most likely that the kernel is asuming a
wrong default for the broadcast. the reason is because if config uses
different ioctls to set the address netmask and broadcast address, therefore
it is kind of not supported to let it guess the right thing :)

I might change that in the future in net-tools.
