kernel user communication

Hi,

I want a simple application to communicate messages between a _specific_
kernel module and a _specific_ user space program.

If I use netlink, which netlink family should I use ? On using the
NETLINK_ROUTE, I don't think I can communicate with a specific module I
want to.

Where do I have to insert code in kernel to accomplish this task ? What
netlink addresses do I use on the two sides.

Thanks,
Vasu.
