Zeroconf protocol

Hi all,

I am implementing the IETF zeroconf working group's draft on "Dynamic
Configuration of IPv4 Link-Local Addresses".

What I have to do is configure a "link-local" address on the network
interface which co-exist alongwith the {manually or DHCP} configured IPv4
address. The 169.254/16 subnet is set aside for link-local addresses.

My question is:

What is the correct implementation of assigning this IP address - should
there be a "virtual device" like 'lo' to which I assign this link-local
address, or should this be assigned using IP aliasing (eth0:1) ?

Regards,
Amit
