Hi: I've sendmail 8.9.3 running on RH 6.0. If I try to restart the daemon, it exits immediately. Looking up the status gives me the foll info: [root@test_bed /]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail status sendmail dead but subsys locked [root@test_bed /]# /var/log/maillog has the foll entries: Nov 22 10:50:08 euler sendmail[953]: starting daemon (8.9.3): SMTP+queueing@01:00:00 Nov 22 10:50:08 euler sendmail[953]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: cannot bind: Permission denied Nov 22 10:50:08 euler sendmail[953]: problem creating SMTP socket Nov 22 10:50:08 euler sendmail[953]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: server SMTP socket wedged: exiting Could it be a problem of permissions? Could anyone pls throw some light on how to fix this problem?
