What 'Ethernet Standard' are you talking about?  Perhaps listing some of
the possible selections will allow us to answer.

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with any Ethernet NIC that limits the frame
contents on transmit.  Most cards do limit the frame length, min (pad)
and max (truncate or error).
