You're not going to like this, but I bet putting a wireless card into promiscuous mode is going to be unsatisfying. I suspect it's hard to get it to actually accept the signal for all other cards, which would be the equivalent of wired promiscuity. If you want to monitor all other traffic in and out of your access point, you'll probably need that to be promiscuous, or settle for monitoring the LAN segment.
