RE: Tcpip benchmark

I use tcpblast for simple tasks, it uses the discard service on
hosts/routers. One of the advantages is that Cisco for one has a discard
service on all it's routers.

for host-to-host tests I use iperf. It performs tcp and udp tests and
can do multiple streams simultaneously . A must, if your (bandwith x
delay) factor gets too high. Iperf has options for setting the MSS etc.
and can test multicast streams too.

It is partly open source. The copyright notice says:

fee.

Subject: Tcpip benchmark

Does anyone use any other tcpip performance tools besides netperf? I am
searching for performance tools/benchmark for tcpip. I would like to
know what other tools open source community is using. I have found
Netspec
and DBS. I don't know how widely they have been used, Any input is
appreciated.
