Hi, We have a highly (network) loaded server, running redhat 6.2. The card is using tulip driver. This is the output of ifconfig (note:IPs in this post are not real numbers) eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:20:78:E0:A2:52 inet addr:222.222.8.118 Bcast:222.222.8.127 Mask:255.255.255.240 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:23883054 errors:181152 dropped:0 overruns:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:95989676 Interrupt:10 Base address:0xe000 We are getting tons of overruns, and I do not know how to fix this I tried setting the card via the /etc/conf.module, but nothing changed alias eth0 tulip options tulip debug=1 options=3 full_duplex=1 I used the tulip_diag.c available on the tulip site, and it reports the following tulip-diag.c:v2.04 9/26/2000 Donald Becker (becker@scyld.com) http://www.scyld.com/diag/index.html Index #1: Found a Macronix 98715 PMAC adapter at 0xe000. Is this card in 100 or 10 mode?? Why does ifconfig say 10?? dmesg reports tulip.c:v0.91g-ppc 7/16/99 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov eth0: Macronix 98715 PMAC rev 37 at 0xe000, 00:20:78:E0:A2:52, IRQ 10. eth0: EEPROM default media type MII 100baseT4. 3c59x.c:v0.99H 11/17/98 Donald Becker http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/ vortex.html I even changed the /proc/sys/vm/freepages from 256 512 768 to 300 400 50, and nothing changed.. Any ideas?? I have a feeling it is a buffer overflow issue,, where the card is not able to handle the traffic, but how do you fix that?? Any help is appretiated..
