Matthew, I am using a Dlink DFE-570TX 4 port card. It is based on DEC Tulip chipset. I like it a lot! This card is plugged into a Compaq ML-370 Dual P-III, 512MB of RAM and dual NCR SCSI controllers. So far, it has been rock solid. We use the machine as a Samba server for a bunch of NT based desktops. I am working on getting all 4 of them trunked to the cisco switch in our closet. Apparently, it is not as well supported on Linux. My humble experience with Linux network cards suggests that it is better to stay with: 1) Tulip based cards -- Intel nee Digital 2) Vortex (3C905, 3C59x) -- 3Com if you can, avoid the Intel eepro chipset like the plague.
