We resently had a discussion in our dk LUG (sslug.dk) about having localhost in a nameserver. Nothing conclusive though. Some meant localhost might aid a spammer to force mail not to be returned, but rather get redirected to the host/postmaster. Any reasons whatsoever for having localhost in DNS? Put another way: What apps might be broken _not_ having localhost in DNS? -- Regards, Mogens Valentin Networking - Security - Programming Linux configuration and troubleshooting http://www.danbbs.dk/~monz - monz@danbbs.dk - : send the line "unsubscribe linux-net" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org
