Dear all, I have a machine of Dell PowerEdge 4400 and only apache of 1.3.12 is running on it. It is used with tomcat of another machine to server web request. The kernel version is 2.2.16 #6 SMP. This morning the machine suddenly crashes. The monitor is blank and the keyboard shows no response. Ping also gives no response. After reboot, everything works fine again. We have analyzed the log ------------------------ /var/log/messages shows no message at the time of crash /etc/httpd/log/access_log shows special character of "^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^" at the time of crash. We can't find any core dump in the system. When we run top to check memory usage, we notice that although the system has 2GB memory , only 2-3Mb of memory are free. However, the memory used by all processes added up are only 200+Mb. It means we can't check the usage of remaining 1.6 GB memory . Could anyone help? Many thanks!!
