RTL8139 sending garbage?

Hi,

While on business travel, I have a distributed simulation setup where my
nodes (24) were running stock Red Hat 6.1 (2.2.12-20). When we had a
power flux, two of the RTL8139 cards seemed to be spewing garbage onto our
LAN. They did it so much that it maxed out our bandwidth on the hub.
Eventually we took down our LAN and an adjacent one with connectivity to ours.

I'm not sure of the make or model, but has anyone ever seen this?
I just know that the cards were using the RTL8139 driver (v1.06?) and were
connected to a 100Mbit hub. We tried moving them to a switch but 3 of the
machines refused to connect. Even shutting down the box for a few minutes
didn't help. If these are just really cheap cards, then say no more.
(Just to let you know, I didn't purchase them.)

Thanks,
Tuan
