Hello, Has that issues been resolved long time ago or is that link still relavent to today's kernel mount to UBIFS volume https://lore.kernel.org/patchwork/patch/791663/? "There currently appears to be no way for userspace to find out the underlying volume number for a mounted ubifs file system, since ubifs uses anonymous block devices. The volume name is present in /proc/mounts but UBI volumes can be renamed after the volume has been mounted." Do I need a patch to fix it in kernel 4.19? Does it has to use rw,relatime in fstab? My rootfs-volume is RO, can the RO rootfs-volume work on kernel mounting? Thank you, appreiate your kind advice. Kind regards, - jh On 2/15/20, JH <jupiter.hce@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi Richard, > > In u-boot, mtdparts=gpmi-nand:1m(boot),1m(ubootenv),-(storage), looks > like kernel did not know the name "storage", changed > root=storage:rootfs-volume to root=ubi0:rootfs-volume, it went to > further to start UBIFS, but still failed Unable to mount root fs on > unknown-block(0,0): > > Starting kernel ... > > [ 0.000000] Booting Linux on physical CPU 0x0 > [ 0.000000] Linux version 4.19.75 (oe-user@oe-host) (gcc version > 8.2.0 (GCC)) #1 SMP Sat Feb 15 01:18:31 UTC 2020 > [ 0.000000] CPU: ARMv7 Processor [410fc075] revision 5 (ARMv7), > cr=10c5387d > [ 0.000000] CPU: div instructions available: patching division code > [ 0.000000] CPU: PIPT / VIPT nonaliasing data cache, VIPT aliasing > instruction cache > [ 0.000000] earlycon: ec_imx6q0 at MMIO 0x02020000 (options '') > [ 0.000000] bootconsole [ec_imx6q0] enabled > [ 0.000000] Memory policy: Data cache writealloc > [ 0.000000] cma: Reserved 64 MiB at 0x8c000000 > [ 0.000000] random: get_random_bytes called from > start_kernel+0x8c/0x48c with crng_init=0 > [ 0.000000] percpu: Embedded 18 pages/cpu s41896 r8192 d23640 u73728 > [ 0.000000] Built 1 zonelists, mobility grouping on.
