xdosemu and -s

Hi,
when im trying to start xdosemu aas user "root" with the -s switch, it seem to unset the DISPLAY variable.

xdosemu allone starts the emu in an X window, thus the DISPLAY variable is properly set.
but xdosemu -s brings the message
ERROR: You do not have the DISPLAY variable set .......
