I'm guessing that Centos 5.1 uses UTF-8 by default but Centos 3 did
not. DOSEMU 1.2.2 did not support UTF-8.
You can try DOSEMU 1.4.0, or iso-8859-1 instead of UTF-8, or xdosemu.
