Please include a cover letter when your series is more than one patch.

Maybe MMC_BLK_TIMEOUT_MS so it is clear we are aiming for the driver's default?

I would expect here: if (timeout_ms > 0) ....
And setting timeout = 0 for all callers except do_sanitize -
which your forgot to include.
