This is functionally identical to the v3 fix I already sent so you can try that or this to confirm it resolves your issue. If you are able to do so, I can submit this to upstream for a hotfix. If not, well then back to the drawing board and I'd be very shocked :) I have been able to reproduce the issue locally in our userland testing suite entirely consistently, and this patch resolves the issue and also continues to pass all maple tree unit tests.
