In the very latest master branch support was added for a device_caps field in
struct video_device. It is recommended to fill in the device caps there when the
video_device struct is initialized. You can then drop initializing the device_caps
and capabilities here since the core will initialize them for you.

The advantage of this is that the core now knows the capabilities of the device.

This should also check the type field. I've updated v4l2-compliance to

You should call the video op g_input_status() here to fill in the
v4l2_input status field. Without that the application won't know if
there is a valid signal or not.
