However, instead of adding the option to the config structure, I think you should just set the pointer to i2c_gate_ctrl to NULL from within the bridge driver -- this is what other drivers do when they want to disable a single function in the _ops struct. I already pushed your patch as-is to the zary branch of my dvb tree on linuxtv.org. If you want to push a new patch that incorporates my suggestion above, then I'll replace the patch.
