However for such a quirk to work, it'll need to detect the IR port. The problem is, based just the I/O ports for the serial port, it seems impossible. I've been banging my head against a brick wall trying to find a way to do this. As soon as you start looking at the other I/O ports for the IR then it becomes clear, but you'll need to glean from PNP what the port numbers are. Either that or some sort of Super I/O detection.
