I have two 290e's - one for dvb-c and one for dvb-t - on the same computer running F16, Kaffeine and latest media files and I see lots of lines in /var/log/messages like this cxd2820r: i2c wr failed ret:-110 reg:db len:1 and fewer like this tda18271_write_regs: [16-0060|M] ERROR: idx = 0x3, len = 1, i2c_transfer returned: -110 but strangely none today. But despite that then I haven't noticed any problems and in particular that of yours of lsusb not showing your 290e. lsusb on my computer shows the 290e's as Bus 002 Device 002: ID 2013:024f Unknown (Pinnacle?) Bus 002 Device 003: ID 2013:024f Unknown (Pinnacle?)
