Scan unsuccessfull after UK Digital Switch Over (DSO)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,
I have a KWorld DVB-T KW-D-395U. Before DSO, it was working well, in fact I can still see the old channels on the old frequencies.
On 13 April 2011, the DSO in my area (Sandy Heath) has occurred and now I can't get the new channels.
I've tried Me-TV, Kaffeine and Klear.
With w_scan I have located the new frequencies and parameters, which match with what I found on the www.ukfree.tv website. I have built the scanfile:

	#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	# file automatically generated by w_scan
	# (http://wirbel.htpc-forum.de/w_scan/index2.html)
	#! <w_scan> 20091230 1 0 OFDM GB </w_scan>
	#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	# location and provider: SandyHeath-uk

	#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	T 626166670 8MHz 3/4 NONE QAM16 2k 1/32 NONE
	T 522000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/32 NONE
	T 498000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/32 NONE
	T 722000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/32 NONE
	T 842000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/32 NONE
	T 650166670 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE

In particular I'm interested in the 522MHz (channel 27) which holds all the BBC things I want. When I scan that with kaffeine, it gives 100% signal, but it finds no channels. The 100% is believable as I get different, and position-dependent, values with an indoor aerial. Using "scan" I find the old channels (at 626166670, 842000000 and 650166670 Hz), but at the 522MHz (and others) I get:

	>>> tune to: 522000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_2_3:FEC_1_2:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE (tuning failed)
	WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!

I've tried the latest ProgDVB under WinXP SP3 with KWorld's latest drivers and I can record BBC TWO from Ch27 (can't see nor hear it due to codecs problems; I don't want to waste time fixing Win).

I hope someone can help.. the kids miss Cbeebies!

Thanks,
elfantin

Notable the absence of "Got signal lock" after attempting tuning onto 522 and 722 MHz. In total it finds about 60-70 services on 3 frequencies.
