Yes, it does. I think it comes with a default EDID, but you want to be able to change it. Often the EDID capabilities are not only defined by the capabilities of the receiver, but also by the capabilities of the device as a whole. E.g., does the video pipeline support interlaced formats or not? So for a proper driver you need to support it. I worked with this bridge myself and I know there is documentation on how to read/write the EDID.
