I do agree having a cleaner mechanism for this is better. So ideally this control is dropped from v4l2 and it becomes another ioctl in dma-heap instead so there's a uAPI for it. Then for the driver usages of sg_dma_address to get secure handles, those could be converted into dma-buf heap kernel APIs so they're not trying to reuse the dma_addr.
