Good point, I keep forgetting about this. Perhaps something like this
in _probe() could work?

if (!pm_runtime_enabled(dev))
    ov02a10_power_on(...);

Then _remove() would handle this naturally, because it checks for
!pm_runtime_status_suspended() and that function returns false ifndef
CONFIG_PM.
