Hi, I've recently built a HTPC running SUSE 11.1 for MythTV usage. I bought two AF9015-based DVB-T USB devices for TV tuners, since I've understood they should work well under Linux. Since I'm running kernel 2.6.27.29-0.1 x86_64, I got the latest v4l-dvb mercurial tree and built kernel modules from there (on 21.10.2009). Now, I have gotten both tuners working just fine for a while (sometimes 4 hours, once even 12 hours straight). However, after a few hours both tuners lose the ability to lock onto channels, even though the signal strength is the same as when they were able to lock. After a reboot, they usually regain that ability. When the tuners are not locking, I see this in /var/log/messages with regular intervals: Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: af9015: recv bulk message failed:-71 Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: tda18271_read_regs: [0-00c0|M] ERROR: i2c_transfer returned: -1 Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: tda18271_ir_cal_init: [0-00c0|M] error -1 on line 812 Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: tda18271_init: [0-00c0|M] error -1 on line 836 Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: tda18271_tune: [0-00c0|M] error -1 on line 909 Oct 22 04:19:04 pepperoni kernel: tda18271_set_params: [0-00c0|M] error -1 on line 990 Checking the locking using femon: pepperoni:/home/myuser # femon -a 0 -H FE: Afatech AF9013 DVB-T (DVBT) status S | signal 75% | snr 0% | ber 0 | unc 0 | status S | signal 76% | snr 0% | ber 0 | unc 0 | I've tried both USB tuners with and without a powered USB hub, no difference. I've also tried using just one at a time. lsusb -v has this to say about my two tuners (I hope this doesn't count as spam): Bus 004 Device 005: ID 15a4:9016 Device Descriptor: bLength 18
