I just noticed current em28xx driver seem to be broken. When I plug
device first time it loads correctly, but when I re-plug it, it does not
work anymore but yells a lot of noise to message log. Tested with PCTV
290e and 292e both same. Other USB DVB devices are working so it is very

I'll do more tests and see what's wrong there.
I found the issue: driver's core doesn't like changing the device name,
as it breaks the unbind logic. The enclosed patch fixes it.
There's a drawback, though: it will now print log messages using the USB
address, instead of using "em28xx:":

I think you did something wrong now. There is usb interface pointer
passed to probe() and you should always use device on that interface to
print messages. Only that way it works properly. Looks like you now pass
wrong device - i2c adapter device - to logging and due to that it prints
messages wrong.
Add that line to probe() in order to see how it should work:
