just to have mentioned it.

On such remote "systems" not having any chip for it on the receiver side
and generating IRQs on GPIOs good for that, they are at least connected
to the on board clock, even the printing on the chip of the transmitter
side might be washed out intentionally. (Asus PC-39)

Also they are 3.3Volts only on the receiver and you can't find a
replacement on the markets, at least last time I tried.
(if connected, that gpio goes high)
