i needed to upgrade the alsa driver in order to get the
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation ICH10 HD Audio Controller
soundcard propperly running, so using the alsa out of the kernel source
(using 2.6.27.8 right now) is not an option

do you have any ideas?
i have read somthing about editing the #ifdef-s in compat.h but i have
to admit that i don-t understand what to do there.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Ben
