There seem to only be 3 signals that are specified as XSI extensions. <https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9799919799/basedefs/signal.h.html> Apart from this SIGCHLD extension, there are: SIGSYS A Bad system call. SIGVTALRM T Virtual timer expired. And we document them normally, without saying anything about them being XSI extensions. So I guess it's just fine to not do it with SIGCHLD.
