My copy has the hyphen, and I would retain it, because
"inherit-scheduler" is an attributive phrase modifying the subsequent
noun "attribute".  Except for some set phrases,[1] attribute phrases are
hyphenated.  This one seems to fit with some structurally analogous
phrases.

inherited-scheduler attribute
load-based scheduling
fixed-size buffer
red-headed stepchild
greased-up JavaScript programmer
