Oops, I missed the "fedora-branch" versus "MAIN" branch difference.

Does that mean that the next "release" of glibc will be called 2.9 ? 
I'm not sure, myself: glibc doesn't do tarball releases anymore, you're
supposed to go by the CVS tags.
