Attention downstream maintainers and translators of man-pages!

Currently I'm working on a website that describes the man-pages project,
including info on how to report bugs.

Starting from some future releases, I also plan to place the following text
at the foot of each page, so that readers know where to report bugs, and
can identify exactly which version of the man-pages they are reading:

   COLOPHON
This page is part of release 2.xx of the Linux man-pages
project. A description of the project, and information
about submitting bug reports, can be found at
       http://???/.

Stefan Puiu pointed out to me that this might be problematic for distros
that patch man-pages significantly and have their own BTS for reporting man
page bugs. Perhaps it might also be problematic for translations. Any
comments about this?

Cheers,

Michael
