I don't buy this argument. Why would your world fall apart if we switch
alignment to 4 bytes. I seriously don't get it.

If your concern is that you won't be able to build a small userspace anymore,
then you should keep in mind that you will always be able to do that with the
help of Buildroot or Toybox.

FWIW, the suggestion to update the kernel ABI came from Geert, not from me.
