Hi Brad and Finn,
Even though I was not able to get the floppy disk drive to be recognized, I was actually able to mount the internal hard drive even with the noted SCSI bus error. Once I put the hfs drivers in the kernel, it mounted fine, and I was able to get a copy of the dmesg:

The "pmu intr 00" messages continue on for a great deal at the end, so I cropped them down. I hope this helps debug the issue.

I tried setting up my system so I can use the floppy drive
to copy the dmesg. However, I'm not positive that Linux
is seeing the floppy drive. I made a device node (major 2,
minor 0) for the drive and tried to mount the disk and eject
the disk, but it says it's invalid. Is the major/minor
numbers different on m68k macs?

an initramfs and I'm happy to report that the
keyboard
does work. However, in the dmesg I got from the fully
booted system, I saw many "pmu intr 00"
messages.
Lots and lots of them. I'm going to try to devise
a way
to get a copy of the dmesg off the system tomorrow.

macscsi lockup bug,
of course, but that bug somehow failed to

looks enough like the one in the PB2xx and PB5xx
models
that the driver
happens to work for both. The PB190 is known to
be
very
similar to the
ppc based PB5300. It may be a more reliable
version of
the
chip.
