In case you're interested, the whole thing with the of_device merge has been getting discussion on the linuxppc-dev mailing list for a good chunk of the month of April. http://ozlabs.org/pipermail/linuxppc-dev/ Just look for the "split out of common open firmware code" thread for the details. Since David Miller was involved, I presume the changes will eventually get put in both the powerpc and sparc trees and eventually into the official kernel.
