sometimes kernel cannot detect GlidePoint input Device

i find if my microsoft usb mouse is detected first, the glidepoint
device can not be detected,
but i cannot make sure, because i have not check all the cannot dmesg.

 my machine : Dell D610
 Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586 #1 SMP Wed May 27
