The first thing I hit is that my default config has panic_on_warn=1 set, which has the same effect as the "multi shot" setting. I think we need to save/restore panic_on_warn the same way we do for multi shot (+rename kasan_multi_shot_init/exit to something more generic). After removing panic_on_warn=1 I was able to run the tests successfully on x86_64.
