I have no objection.
'true' is a shell-builtin command, so it saves a process fork.

BTW, 'truncate' is used in drivers/firmware/efi/libstub/Makefile.zboot
(CONFIG_EFI_ZBOOT).
It seems to be no problem in Yocto.
