What is a benefit of this patch?

It claims "slightly higher compression", but I do not see a difference.
(15.0577 sec   --> 15.013 sec)


[1] build  allmodconfig
[2] collect *.ko files whose size is less than 2MB
[3] measure the time elapsed for compressing all of them

I did 'perf stat --repeat 10'.
