Hi,
I'm writing here to report a bug with the Synaptics touchpad integrated
in the keyboard of this 2-in-1 device.
The bug is found on my arch install, ubuntu live and fedora live.
This is my first bug report, so I hope to not mess things up. Sorry in
advance for my mistakes...
[1.] One line summary of the problem:
Synaptics touchpad fails to be configured by hid_rmi on Acer Switch 3
(Intel Pentium N4200)
[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
Touchpad on the Acer Switch 3 is totally unresponsive after boot.
Switching from advanced (I2C) to basic mode (HID) in bios gives no
results.
Logs (dmesg) show that initialization/configuration of the device by the
hid-rmi module failed: (last 4 lines could be from the digitizer or the
touch panel, I'm unsure)

We can get the touchpad to work blacklisting the hid_rmi module as it
was posted on ubuntu forums, but it's a less than ideal fix since
multitouch is not supported

adding the device identifier to hid-ids.h
