Unsupported touchpad on new Tong Fang GK5CN5Z laptop

Hi,

I have a new Tong Fang GK5CN5Z (branded as PC Specialist Recoil II) laptop, and as far as I can tell the touchpad is currently unsupported.

I'm running 4.17.13-gentoo with everything mouse-, synaptics- and I2C-related turned on under input device drivers, and I've enabled the 'mouse', 'evdev', 'libinput' and 'synaptics' X input drivers. I don't see any devices under `xinput` other than my external mouse and XTEST.

I'm not really sure what I should be looking for beyond this or how to get started, as I've never had an issue with non-working input devices before. Can anyone point me at how to start diagnosing this?

If it's of any help as a starting point, here's the output of `dmesg | egrep -i '(hid|input|i2c)'`:
