Your LCD groups shouldn't overlap. See how it's done for the JZ4725B.

The LCD controller of X2000 is similar to that of X1830, but is very different from the previous JZ47 series SoCs. It essentially makes two independent parts, which are used to control the LCD of the universal RGB interface and the so-called smart LCD (LCD with controller, compatible with the 8080 interface or 6800 interface). The RGB part is more like the LCD controller in the jz47 series with special pins and serial mode removed, the Smart LCD part is inherited from X1000 (X1000's LCD controller does not support RGB interface, and for the first time introduce this interface that compatible with 8080 or 6800 called as SLCD by Ingenic). So it may be more appropriate to distinguish them. However, the RGB part can follow the way of the jz47 series and split it into a combination of 16bit, 18bit, and 24bit.

What is your opinion?

In case of the X2000 (and maybe X1830 - didn't check), the RGB and SLCD modules have pins in common, but with a different function number. As such they don't actually share any group of pins, and should be distinguised, yes.

You can split the RGB part the same way it's done for the JZ47xx SoCs. For the SLCD, according to the PM it supports 1-bit, 8-bit, 9-bit, 16-bit, 18-bit and 24-bit, so you should have groups for these.

Sure.

Thanks and best regards!

 You should have these groups: lcd-8bit, lcd-16bit, lcd-18bit, lcd-24bit, lcd-generic, lcd-special.

Your lcd-slcd-16bit would then be lcd-8bit + lcd-16bit. (non-SLCD panels would need lcd-generic as well).
