tree: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio.git chardev-step-2

commit: a68b4a81f6f991afa03ecb474923410b7c173c7f [5/7] gpio: userspace ABI for reading/writing GPIO lines
config: m68k-m5475evb_defconfig (attached as .config)
compiler: m68k-linux-gcc (GCC) 4.9.0
reproduce:
        wget https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/wfg/lkp-tests.git/plain/sbin/make.cross -O ~/bin/make.cross
        chmod +x ~/bin/make.cross
        git checkout a68b4a81f6f991afa03ecb474923410b7c173c7f
        # save the attached .config to linux build tree
        make.cross ARCH=m68k

Note: the gpio/chardev-step-2 HEAD 4b662dd9a9d72bfb73e552a3ffcca74a6c475cfe builds fine.
      It only hurts bisectibility.

All errors (new ones prefixed by >>):

   drivers/built-in.o: In function `linehandle_create':
>> gpiolib.c:(.text+0x20a6): undefined reference to `anon_inode_getfd'
