Actually, I have CONFIG_GPIOLIB=y, only it doesn't appears in the defconfig.
I did:
# cp defconfig arch/arm/configs/toto_defconfig
# ARCH=arm make toto_defconfig

# grep CONFIG_GPIOLIB .config
CONFIG_GPIOLIB=y
CONFIG_GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP=y

# LANG=C ARCH=arm
CROSS_COMPILE=~/dev/LNS/buildroot-VIP/output/host/usr/bin/arm-linux-
make -j12 uImage
[...]
