This is indeed curious but I think in this case lockdep is just confused by
treating all superblocks the same (s_umount on all superblocks is from the
same locking class) where for loop devices it is substantial which
superblock is on the backing device and which is on the loop device.

If I understand the complaint correctly, it is complaining about a chain
like:

umount of loopmounted fs		loop worker	freezing process
  cleanup_mnt()
    deactivate_super()
      down_write(sb->s_umount);
      ...
      blkdev_put(loopdev)
        mutex_lock(disk->open_mutex);
        __loop_clr_fd()
          wait for all loop IO to finish
					file_start_write(backing_file)
					  - blocks on frozen fs
							freeze_super(backing fs)
							  ...
							  sb_wait_write()
							  down_write(sb->s_umount);

And this is not a deadlock only because backing fs != loopmounted fs but
lockdep doesn't know...

Anyway Christoph's patches should fix this report because we won't wait for
IO from __loop_clr_fd() anymore.
