It's not, but if we had an external config file, then the -d options scheme would be duplicated functionality, and the advantage of using the profile parsing code is we don't need to implement a new set of config parsing code, which is its own extra bit of complexity and opportunity for Coverity/gcc -Wall nits. :-) - Ted
