By INT64_MAX I mean: 9223372036854775807. This is when offset is set to 0, when offset is negative, then it will be added to the result, ex. 9223372036854775807 + (-1) = 9223372036854775806. I think that directory size is less than INT64_MAX, so this value seems completely off. Positive offset values will return -1 with EINVAL errno, which seems reasonable.
