This participation translates into millions of
developer hours
dedicated to cross-device compatibility, application portability and the
user experience for MeeGo-based devices. Contributors are attracted to
MeeGo because it extends reach beyond just smartphones to also include
connected televisions, in-vehicle infotainment systems, netbooks and
more. MeeGo is the result of the merger of Intel's Moblin and Nokia's
Maemo platforms and is hosted by The Linux Foundation.

video contest recently concluded, and the winner and two runner-ups were
announced last week.
The winning video is titled "Go Linux" and leverages the timely topic of sustainability to demonstrate the benefits of Linux. The winner, Anthony Stellato, wins a trip to LinuxCon in Boston as well as a loaded Linux laptop.
