Hello,
Please ignore this patch for now. While running a kernel with this patch,
the following was triggered once (among multiple reboots). IRQ flags might
need to be saved, along with this present patch.
Hello Pierre,
This is probably related to the Altra firmware bug that we are trying
to narrow down and work around.
So when the firmware crashes, it is not entirely unexpected that it
might do so with the IRQ flags left in a different state, so this we
should be able to ignore. (Perhaps we should silence that diagnostic
in this case)
Could you share the output of dmidecode on this platform?
I forgot to mention, this was tested on an Ampere eMAG. I saw that
commit 550b33cfd445 ("arm64: efi: Force the use of SetVirtualAddressMap()
on Altra machines") was solving a similar issue, but this should not impact
this machine.
I ll try to reproduce it and get more information.

Obviously, there is a related issue where some process keeps hitting
on the RTC. Mind testing the below to see if the system is usable
beyond the EFI problems, and perhaps have a stab at figuring out which
process keeps hitting on the RTC like that?

This seems to come from commit ff7a167961d1 ("arm64: efi: Execute
runtime services from a dedicated stack") which adds a spinlock. This
spinlock is taken through:
efi_call_rts()
\-efi_call_virt()
\-efi_call_virt_pointer()
\-arch_efi_call_virt_setup()
Make 'efi_rt_lock' a raw_spinlock to avoid being preempted.
